Thermal water
In the 13th century, two hunters from the Pfäfers Monastery discovered a steaming spring. This marked the beginning of a centuries-long tradition of bathing. The Pfäfers spa was established in the “ Taminaschlucht (Tamina Gorge).” The famous physician Paracelsus attested to the healing properties of the thermal water, which has a temperature of 36.5 degrees. Later, the thermal water was channeled to the thermal baths in Valens and Bad Ragaz.
