Here's how to enjoy the train tour

A three-day journey through the Heidiland region—from Lake Walen to Bad Ragaz. You’ll start in Unterterzen, spend the night in the heart of the mountains, and can optionally round off your trip with a relaxing visit to the Tamina Therme.

Day 1 - Start at Lake Walen with Flow & Panorama

  • Start in Unterterzen and take the gondola up to Flumserberg
  • A panoramic start with a view of Lake Walen and the Churfirsten
  • Flowing trails and the first single-track sections on Flumserberg
  • The BlueSalamander is part of the route and makes for a lot of fun
  • Continue on via the Schils downhill run to the Schönhalden mountain railway
  • Convenient cable car ride up to the Schönhalden Mountain Hotel
  • Staying at the Berghotel Schönhalden – a quiet retreat in the mountains

Our tip for Flumserberg:

  • Additional trail option via the Prodkamm (1939 m) with a descent via the RedFox
  • Choose any trail you like with the “Bike Day Pass” —from leisurely to challenging

Day 2 - A Leisurely Tour Through the Alpine Landscape

  • Start the day with breakfast at the Berghotel Schönhalden (1,487 m) —with a view of the Churfirsten
  • Direct access to Route 25 in an alpine setting
  • A shorter, technically easy stage with plenty of flow and scenic views
  • Varied trails winding through alpine meadows and wooded areas
  • Chapfensee is the perfect spot to take a break—ideal for relaxing or taking a walk around the lake
  • A leisurely drive toward the Pizol area
  • Sleeping at the Furt on Pizol —a prime vantage point in the mountains

Our tip: Once you arrive at Hotel Furt, park your bikes and take the chairlift to the Pizol Hut (2,227 m) (included)

  • The UNESCO Panorama Trail on Pizol as a Hiking Option

Day 3 - Finale with a trail run and a relaxing end to the day in Bad Ragaz

  • Start your day with breakfast at Hotel Furt —right in the heart of the Pizol region
  • Head toward Schönbüel to Valeistobel
  • A natural singletrack in the Valeistobel with plenty of flow
  • Continue down into the valley to Vilters, to the valley station of the Pizolbahnen
  • Take the mountain railway up to Pardiel (1,626 m)
  • The perfect place to stop for lunch at the Edelweiss Panorama Restaurant
  • Our tip: Take the chairlift up to Laufböden (2226 m) (included)
  • Final descent from Pardiel via a singletrack and a forest road to Bad Ragaz

The tour is doable even without an e-bike—but it’s much more comfortable with one. If you don’t have your own e-bike, you can easily rent one in Flumserberg and return it in Bad Ragaz after the tour.

Your luggage will be transported to your next accommodation every day. Drop it off at the front desk by 10 a.m., and it will be waiting for you at your next hotel starting at 5 p.m.

The tour combines easy to moderate trails and is also well suited for beginners. The route, which includes a mix of paved roads, forest paths, nature trails, and a few trail sections, is mostly rated blue, with only a few red sections.

Yes—the tour can be extended as needed. You can book additional nights on your own to stay longer in Heidiland and enjoy the region at your own pace.

The train tour is available for booking from June through October.
