Heidi already felt at home here: the breathtaking natural scenery in the holiday region Heidiland has always touched and inspired people. Johanna Spyri, for example, who set her world-famous Heidi story in Maienfeld after numerous stays in the spa town of Bad Ragaz. Today, visitors can experience the Heidi myth in the original Heidi village, which attracts around 150,000 visitors to Maienfeld every year. The Bündner Herrschaft region - which includes Maienfeld - is also known as the "small region of great wines". The wines from the "Herrschaft" regularly win international awards and enjoy an excellent reputation among connoisseurs. Wine hiking trails and guided wine tours make it possible to experience the region.
