The hike begins after the gondola ride with the BergJet to Maschgenkamm. The guide knows the best places to spot marmots, also known as mungg or murmeli, and tells fascinating stories about their lives. Their distinctive warning whistle can often be heard from afar. The guide explains how these fascinating animals live together as a family in their underground burrows and why they spend half the year hibernating. Despite their caution, marmots are often seen on Flumserberg. With a little patience, you can watch them search for food, play with each other, or use their sophisticated warning system. A single whistle warns of attacks from the air, while several whistles signal danger on the ground. The animals then disappear into their escape tunnels at lightning speed. The hike is led by a certified Sardona GeoGuide, who not only knows the best observation spots, but also explains what makes this landscape so special and why it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hike ends at Chrüz. From here, you can either take the chairlift back to the Bergjet valley station, use the Floomzer toboggan run for a rapid descent, or walk back.

Tickets for the "BergJet" (Flumserberg Tannenboden - Maschgenkamm), "Chrüz" chairlift (Chrüz - Flumserberg Tannenboden) and/or "FLOOMZER" toboggan run are not included in the price and must be purchased at the Flumserberg mountain railway ticket office. Further information about tickets can be found here.
The tour takes place in all weather conditions, unless the guide cancels the tour for safety reasons (please dress appropriately for the weather).
