Sarganserland Car Theater

A wagon becomes a stage, a village community becomes the audience, and an ordinary weeknight turns into a celebration: Welcome to the Sarganserland Wagon Theater! This mobile theater goes wherever people are and brings everything needed for an unforgettable open-air performance—a great play and an exquisite musical ensemble!
This year, our play is called “Rimini.”
At a hotel on the beach in Rimini, the staff is getting ready for the arriving guests: a family of bankers from Germany with their daughter, a somewhat more down-to-earth group with two teenagers from Switzerland, an elderly, frail couple, two stressed-out businesspeople, and a shady beach vendor trying to foist ski goggles on the vacationers. They get to know one another, grow closer, or become sworn enemies. When objects and valuables suddenly disappear under inexplicable circumstances, the story begins to take on the air of a mystery. But who is the thief? And the chambermaid isn’t who she seems to be. Then the sea starts to have its say, and just as everything seems to be building toward a happy ending, all hell breaks loose—and this troubled world goes down with a song of resignation to fate.
Rimini—a comedy that’s entertaining and funny, yet also thought-provoking and ironic; a play that’s perfect for balmy summer evenings.
