"Garmil" means "small mountain peak" in Romansh. What the high-altitude hike to Garmil offers is by no means little: at the valley station of the Pizolbahnen, you will be given a picnic rucksack filled with regional specialties. You then take the gondola lift and a chairlift up to the Gaffia mountain station. The hike can now begin. Along your route, you will find information boards explaining the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona that surrounds you. The crowning glory of the hike is the summit cross, where you have a magnificent panoramic view over the Sarganserland region. Find a cozy spot for your picnic or make yourself comfortable on the bench next to the summit cross. From a cutting board to a picnic blanket: you'll find everything you need in your rucksack.
