Lakes
The Seebensee lakes at 1620 m above sea level are located in the Flumserberg area and offer numerous leisure activities in summer and winter. The Hotel Seebenalp with its restaurant and sun terrace is a popular destination for visitors.
The plateau with the three mountain lakes is nestled in the well-known Flumserberg summer and winter sports region and is characterized by idyllic scenery and natural beauty. The traditional hotel directly on the lake has a long history.
The three mountain lakes (Grosssee, Heusee, Schwarzsee) lie at around 1620 m above sea level. The imposing hotel originally stood on the Heusee and was torn down by an avalanche in 1898 and painstakingly rebuilt in 1907 at its current location on the Grosssee. Run as a spa hotel, the hotel accommodated asthma sufferers, among others, who appreciated the healthy mountain climate and idyllic location. The Hotel Seebenalp still accommodates guests today. The restaurant with its large sun terrace offers a wide range of food and drinks. The hotel also offers ideal facilities for group events for up to 100 people.
SUMMER
In summer, walks and hikes across lush green meadows dotted with blooming alpine roses and gnarled clusters of pine trees are a delight. The lakes are ideal for swimming, rowing and fishing. There are picnic areas and barbecue sites around the lakes.
Pike fishing is the order of the day in the Seebensee. The pike must have a minimum length of 50 cm, the fishing license is only available at the Hotel Seebenalp. A rowing boat is available, which can also be hired from the hotel.
The mountain lakes can be reached on foot from Flumserberg or from the Maschgenkamm mountain station in just over an hour.
WINTER
In winter, Seebenalp is located directly on the ski slope and is also a popular destination for winter hiking and snowshoeing.
