Salenegg Castle
Salenegg Castle in Maienfeld, built between 1782 and 1784, is owned by the Gugelberg von Moos family. Surrounded by an ornamental garden and vineyard, it inspires with its history and architecture.
The almost symmetrical castle complex was built between 1782 and 1784 by combining various stages of construction (Ulysses Gugelberg). It is still owned by the Gugelberg von Moos family today. The ornamental garden and vineyard encompass the castle and courtyard. Gardener's house and staggering building in the northwest. The willow tree inspired Rainer Maria Rilke to write the poem "The Willow of Salenegg" in August 1926.
