Mels Town Hall Cellar - Winery
Since its founding in 1938, the winegrowing cooperative has been based in the Rathauskeller Mels on the village square, where it presses its wines using the latest methods and allows them to mature into fine wines in the historic vaulted cellar.
Between Sargans and Heiligkreuz, on steep south-facing slopes with optimal sunlight, more than 50 winegrowers tend to each individual vine with tireless work, dedication, and passion as a sideline to their main occupation. Their high-quality grapes form the basis for distinctive, high-quality, and unique wines.
For generations, an extensive range of white and red wines has been pressed and stored in the historic vaulted cellar of Mels Town Hall. We are proud of our wide variety of grape varieties. These range from classics such as Pinot Noir, Riesling-Sylvaner, and Chardonnay to specialties such as Kerner, Pinot Gris, and Souvignier Gris.
The work of our cellar master Toni Bardellini and our winemakers is characterized by passion, craftsmanship, and innovation. With great dedication, they ensure that the regional wine tradition remains alive and is carried into the future as a unique cultural asset.
