Generally public guided tour of the disused Gonzen iron mine.
The guided tour, which will impress you with the size of the mine and the work carried out in it, begins with a film that provides lots of information about Gonzen and its history. Then, equipped with helmet and tunnel lamp, you will travel through the 2 km long base tunnel into the interior of the mountain. From the station there, an approx. 2-hour tour takes you through tunnels, over roadways, galleries and braking mountains, past mining fields, silos and equipment up to Gallery 5 - exactly 85 meters above the main station - and back down again.
The tour is suitable for ages 12 and up. Wear good shoes and bring a jacket. The temperature is 13 degrees.
