Accompanied by a local, trained guide from Bergträume GmbH, you will leave your tracks in deep snow-covered forests and open alpine pastures. The tour is also suitable for beginners—no previous snowshoeing experience is necessary. Along the way, you will learn exciting facts about nature, wildlife, and the history of this former Walser valley. With a little luck, you may see deer, foxes, or dippers. The route takes you past rushing mountain streams and old mountain farms and offers impressive views of the Foostock – part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona. During the tour, discover the historic mountain village of Weisstannen at over 1,000 meters above sea level. Here, time seems to stand still: weather-beaten wooden houses, traditional handicrafts, and living Alpine culture characterize the village. At the end of the tour, enjoy a well-deserved break (consumption not included in the price) in the stylish, centuries-old inn with its Belle Époque and Biedermeier ambience.

Notes

Minimum shoe size 35 (due to snowshoes)
Pure hiking time approx. 3 hours
Equipment: Winter-suitable equipment and good footwear with high shafts, as well as sun protection and something to drink, possibly a small snack for on the way, daypack to attach snowshoes if necessary.
If you are bringing your own snowshoes and poles, please notify us in advance
Easy, flat hike with little elevation gain. Easily manageable with a reasonable level of fitness and sure-footedness.
No previous snowshoeing experience is necessary
If there is not enough snow, the hike will be conducted as a winter hike.
